Aloha, and welcome to our food blog!

We are a team of food loving, food eating, food connoisseurs living on North Shore, Oahu. Basically, we really really really like food. With this island having so much to offer we decided to break it down piece by piece, bite by bite, and really discover it's greatness. We have given this adventure the name "I Ate North Shore", or as we formally call it, "IAN". Beginning in Hauula and eating our way down to Haleiwa we will dine at every single food vendor we can find. We'll document every place we go, where it is, what we order, it's price, and our average rating.

The rules:

1) If you pay, you can't have any say in what is ordered. None.
2) If you have had it before, you can't order it. Something new every time.
2.5) *exception to the rule* If it is one member's first time dining at a particular vendor, a repeat item of another's may be ordered.
3) You must ask for the cashier/server's favorite. If they answer, you must order that item. No one in the group should chose what is ordered if at all possible.
4) You cannot share with the group particular ingredients that you like or dislike. You should try new things as often as possible.

The rating system:

Being from different places, we have different tastes and opinions. With this in mind we have tactfully created an equal rating system. It is done on a scale from 1 - 10.

A rating of 1 (we collectedly decided) is relative to Zippy's, a Hawaiian fast food restaurant that completely sucks.
A rating of 5 is relative to the caf on BYU-H campus, where we all attend school.
A rating of 10 is relative to whatever our favorite restaurant on the island is currently (and will remain constant throughout).

We hope we can assist you with all of your North Shore dining questions! But mostly, we just really want to eat, all the time.

  1. This is great! May I have permission to open a branch of IAN here in Aurora Colorado? We'll call it We Ate Aurora :))O. With all the fun eateries nearby, it'll take forever to reach Denver or Lone Tree, which is okay because with acronyms like WAD and WALleT they're probably too expensive for my tastes anyway. Sharing will help keep cost and portion size down (SWHKCAPSD? Sounds too German, like Helga's Restaurant in Aurora; great German food but a little pricey.) Consider combining with a joint membership in WWOA or WWOHa (Weight Watchers Of Aurora/Hawaii) else we'll all be Izzy with de-light. What are we weighting for?

  2. You are more than welcome to start your own IAN adventure! SWHKCAPSD is already a part of IAN so that sounds like a fair addition to the project! I wish you luck in your endeavors, and suggest that you first begin with that place that sells donut-burgers. Yum.

    HA! Weight-ing for. :)
